We are delighted to announce we are officially moving forward with the Bichli Haveli project in Udaipur, India!
Our advance team’s trip to the site last month confirmed that our partners and the project will be a good fit for our mission of using volunteer tourism to help communities restore their heritage sites, and, in doing so, advance sustainable development, cross-cultural understanding, and celebration of their unique histories. (Check out our trip photos and reports on our Facebook page.)
We’ll be releasing dates for our first 2017 trip soon. We are eager to see many of our past participants again and meet an entirely new group of volunteers in the beautiful Rajasthan region of India.
This year’s #GivingTuesday is when we kick it all off.
On November 29th, the global day of giving back, we’re raising the $2,500 needed to employ the local crew for the first month of work.
(Last year on #GivingTuesday, the RWI community raised over $5,000 to complete the Chhairo Gompa restoration project. You’re a generous group!)
Please consider Restoration Works International in your charitable giving on November 29th.
Keep an eye on your email and our Facebook page on Tuesday. We’ll be sharing photos and videos, and celebrating this exciting new initiative.
